Power of Positive Thinking

The power of positive thinking is the one true power you have. This is the one principle of life that needs to be realized and put into action every day.

The Bible is quoted "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

As Ernest Holmes states in his book The Science of Mind, "We are living in an Intelligent Universe, which responds to our mental states. To the extent that we learn to control these mental states, we shall automatically control our environment." (The Science of Mind, page 139, publisher Penquin Putnam, Inc.)

Holmes goes on to say: "In the great Universal Mind, man is a center of intelligence, and every time he thinks he sets Mind into action. Because of the Oneness of Mind, It cannot know anything outside Itself, and therefore cannot contradict any thought given It, but must reflect whatever is cast into It." (The Science of Mind, page 140, publisher Penquin Putnam, Inc.)

I know for a fact in my life when I have chosen to think of a situation in a negative light it just makes the situation more difficult. On the other hand if I take a deep breath and accept it as it is and choose to see a positive outcome the situation works itself out and I'm the better for it. For me this is the power of positive thinking.

The Atmosphere of Thinking
I quote Ernest Holmes again, as he makes the important point about the atmosphere from which our thoughts come:

    "We are all immersed in the atmosphere of our own thinking, which is the direct result of all we have ever said, thought or done. This decides what is to take place in our lives. Thought attracts what is like itself and repels what is unlike. We are drawn toward those things which we mentally image. Most of the inner processes of our thought have been unconscious, but when we understand the Law, we learn to consciously embody what we wish, and think of this only, and then we are drawn silently toward it." (The Science of Mind, page 142, publisher Penquin Putnam, Inc.)

We Have the Choice
Every day you make choices, many choices. This is how you become an individual. You choose your friends, what you like to eat, what style clothes you want to wear, and so on.

You also and most importantly have the choice of how you think about yourself and others. Choose to make those thoughts positive ones and never underestimate the power of positive thinking.

Positive self talk is an important part of living you best life now. Become more conscious of your thoughts make them positive ones and see a change for the better in your life.
